MRY / Louie Schwartzberg Partnership
Monterey Regional Airport to Feature the Work of Louie Schwartzberg
Monterey, California, March 1, 2018 – Monterey Regional Airport (MRY) proudly announced a year-long partnership with filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg and his company, Moving Art. Louie Schwartzberg is an award-winning producer, director and cinematographer whose notable career spans more than three decades providing breathtaking imagery for feature films, documentaries and commercials.
As the only filmmaker in the world who has been shooting time-lapse 24/7 continuously for well over three decades, Schwartzberg is a visual artist breaking barriers, connecting with audiences, and telling stories that celebrate life and reveal the mysteries and wisdom of nature, people and places.
For Schwartzberg, the greatest satisfaction is creating works that can have a positive effect on the future of the planet. “I hope my films inspire and open people’s hearts. Beauty is nature’s tool for survival – we protect what we love. If I can move enough people on an emotional level, I hope we can achieve the shift in consciousness we need to sustain and celebrate life.”
Energizing Impact for Passengers and the Community
Mr. Schwartzberg has provided MRY with a video segment from footage that he filmed in Big Sur, California. The 17-minute segment will run in the terminal ticketing area so that passengers can relax and take in these stunning and captivating images while waiting for their plane to arrive or while waiting to pick up loved ones. MRY will also feature segments on the homepage of their website: www.montereyairport.com. More information about Mr. Schwartzberg, is available at www.montereyairport.com/movingart.
Monterey Regional Airport Leaders collaborated with Mr. Schwartzberg and his team for several months to select a series of video clips and images that will attract and engage people who visit the airport as well as our website and our social media in the hopes of enticing them to visit these beautiful locations located on the Central Coast and conveniently flying into Monterey Regional Airport so they can easily arrive at any one of these destinations within a short period of time.
Airport Executive Director, Mike La Pier, said “it’s partnerships like these that show that Monterey Regional Airport is proud to be part of a team of community partners who strive to enhance this region’s reputation locally, nationally and around the world.”
